Let your voice be heard - Corridor X Expansion - Bessemer Civic Center - Sept 29th

Come out and voice your support of the Corridor X project on Thursday, Sept 29th.  This expansion is vital to the growth of the Western Jefferson County area.

Public comment is requested by the Alabama Department of Transportation on Thursday, Sept 29th at the Bessemer Civic Center.   Time:  4 pm - 8 pm CT

ALDOT officials will have maps and information about the project available.

Hueytown Race - Fox WBRC Channel 6: Friday, 9/30/11

Be sure and tune in to Fox WBRC Channel 6 on Friday, Sept 30th.  Watch for Chamber officers Lisa Settle and Hollyn Davis at 8:10 a.m. as they discuss the upcoming Hueytown Race!
 
Reminder - the race is scheduled for Saturday, Oct 1st.  Start time is 8 am CT at Hueytown Elementary.  You can register online until Friday, 9/30.    You can also register the morning of the race at 7 am CT.

Movie in the Park: Saturday, Sept 24th - Benefiting Hueytown High School

Come enjoy a movie in the park benefiting Hueytown High School.  On Saturday, Sept 24th you can enjoy "Soul Surfer".  The movie will be shown outside in the field beside North Highlands Baptist Church.   Movie seating starts at 6:30 pm  and the movie starts at 7:30 pm.  

Be sure to bring chairs and blankets for you and your family.   Concessions will be available.  Admission is $ 3.00.

Chamber Luncheon - Wednesday, Sept 21st: Senator Greg Reed

The September Chamber Luncheib will be held Wednesday, September 21 at noon.  Please mark your calendars and contact the chamber to indicate your attendance.  Currently we have over 40 reservations and we want to make sure there is room for YOU!

Our speaker will be Senator Greg Reed who will discuss a program pertinent to the Western Jefferson County area.

As always the lunches are open to the community - you do not have to be a chamber member to attend.  Donation of $5 is requested.    Lunch donations go to the Hueytown Area Chamber of Commerce's Scholarship program.

Hueytown 10K/5K: Saturday, 10/01/11

Reminder the Hueytown 10K/5K  Race (and Walk) will be Saturday, 10/01/11.  You do not have to be a runner.  Walkers are welcome!  

Registration day of race at 7 a.m.  Race begins at 8 a.m. on the dot.  

Register early to insure receipt of your Technical Dry Fit T-Shirt with your race packet. 

Awards for each division's 1st place finisher.

Community 9/11 Recognition Ceremony

The Hueytown Police and Fire Department's Honor Guards would like to invite you to the September 11 Recognition ceremony. It will be held Sunday, September 11, 2011 beginning at 7:30 a.m.   Location:  North Highlands Baptist Church.   The times of impact of each of the two planes which struck the World Trade Center will be recognized.

The community is strongly encouraged to share in this event.
