Coming Soon: Self Rehab Facility

Expansion news from another terrific Chamber member!   Continuing in its tradition of providing excellent health care services for Western Jefferson county, Self Healthcare is expanding its services through the establishment of the Self Rehab Facility for short term rehabilitation..  

This state of the art facility will consist of 18 private rooms with private baths along with accomodations for physical, occupational and speech therapy.  Located at 131 East Crest Road in Hueytown, the facility will make it easy for those in our area to participate in therapy without traveling throughout the Birmingham Metro area.

Stay tuned!  Self Rehab Facility will soon be making announcements regarding the Grand Opening festivities and public tours of their new facility

Rural Metro hosting Cookout - Friday, Aug 26th from 11 a -2 pm

In the Chamber we have terrific sponsors and members.  Here is another example of great community spirit from one of our Sponsors:    Rural Metro    Not only do they work to save lives through fantastic emergency and non-emergency services, they also work to help others through community related events.

Rural Metro will host a cookout/fundraiser for the Save The Youth foundation.  To raise money for the foundation Rural Metro will be grilling hamburgers on Friday, Aug 26th from 11 am to 2 pm.  They will sell a burger, chips and drink combo for  $5.00 donation.

So start your weekend on a good note and come by the Rural Metro location at 211 19th Street, Bessemer, Al. between 11 am and 2 pm for a fantastic grilled burger.

Hueytown 10k/5k Run -Walk: Saturday, Oct 1st

Good things continue to grow in Hueytown - come be a part of the Hueytown Area Chamber of Commerce's 6th Annual Hueytown 10k/5k Run-Walk. This is a 10k USATF Certified Course and a 5k event.  There will also be a 1 mile fun run for the kids directly following the end of the race.

Runners and Walkers will enjoy our course.  The Race/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, Oct 1st, starting at Hueytown Elementary. Registration Links:  TrakShak and through Birmingham Track Club.   We look forward to another great race this year! The funds raised for this race goes directly back to schools and charities in our area.

Another terrific community event for the Hueytown area!  Former University of Alabama Coach Gene Stallings will speak at the community wide pep rally on Monday, August 22nd.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m and the event begins @ 7:30 pm.

Hueytown High School Varsity Football: AHSAA Championship Challenge - Aug 19 in Montgomery, Al.

Hueytown has alway been known to travel well for its sports teams and we are ready again!  Gas up the car and throw in a snack bag for the AHSAA Championship Challenge between Hueytown High School and Thomasville High School on Friday night, Aug 19th.  Location:  Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama.

Tickets:  Locally tickets will be available for purchase prior to game time in the new HHS office on 15th St Road in Hueytown. Sales dates & times:   Thursday, Aug. 18  from 7:45 am – 10 am &  2:00 pm until 3:30 pm.   Also on Friday, Aug 19th from 7:45 am until 11 am.

1st Annual Hueytown Fan Day! Saturday, Aug 13 - gates open @ 3:30 pm

Come join us for the 1st Annual Community Wide Hueytown FAN Day!  It will be held this Saturday, August 13 at Gilmore Vines Stadium.  The gates will open at 3:30 pm Ct.  This event is for ALL of the community and will showcase both the High School and Middle School.

We will have the players, bands and cheerleaders from both schools.  Bring an appetite - we will have grilled hot dogs, hamburgers and smoked sausage for sale. 

This will be a great time to purchase your season tickets (including parking pass) along with other school memorabilia! (e.g. Tshirts, caps, visors, prior year's jerseys, etc)
