Blood Drive at America's First Credit Union in Hueytown - Giveaways & Register to win a Flat Screen TV

Join America's First Federal Credit Union in Hueytown and do something amazing for yourself and others!   America's First is conducting a blood drive at its Hueytown branch on Friday, July 26th.

When you participate in the blood drive, you will receive a Life South t-shirt along with an America's First Federal Credit Union goodie bag.  You will also be entered into the monthly blood drive drawing for a big screen t.v.   To give blood you must be at least:  17 y/o, weigh 110 lbs and have a photo i.d.

North Alabama Team Camp: July 22-25

SBA Webinars: Affordable Care Act 101 series

The Small Business Administration and Small Business Majority are launching the Affordable Care Act 101 weekly webinar series.  Each week, SBA representatives will walk through the key pieces of the law.  This free series will focus on both federal and state provisions to help small business owners understand how the law will affect them.  The Affordable Care Act 101 webinar series will take place every Thursday from now through the opening of the marketplaces in October.

    1st Annual "Paws in the Park" - September 7th - Gilmore Vines Stadium



    Mark your calendar!    On September 7  the Hueytown Area Chamber of Commerce will host the Chamber's 1st Annual "Paws in the Park".  This will be a fun day in the park for everyone - whether or not you own a dog!  What are we  planning?   There will be costume contests, talent demonstrations, dog show competition and more.

    Hueytown Area Schools Registration information: 2013-2014

    It may be Summer but the start of school will be here shortly. The first day of school will be Monday, August 19th.  In order to be ready for the first day of school all students will need to be registered with their residency verified. 

    Jefferson County Schools - Residence Verification Requirements are:
    • Proof of residence:  includes items as a mortgage or bona fide lease in the name of the parent or legal custodian and signed by the lessee and lessor
    • Two (2)  current utility bills (cell phones are not acceptable utilities) in the name of the parent or legal custodian at that address .  Bills with 'Final Notice' and/or 'Disconnect' are not accepted
    • Guardian's Drivers License
    • Proof of legal custody if you are not the parent and proof of custody in the case of a divorce.  (Notarized statements are not accepted.)
    • A current Blue immunization form for the student from a physician or the health department
    • A social security card for the student in the student’s name
    • Student's birth certificate 
    • The withdrawal form with grades and a current transcript (last current report card) from the previous school.  The complete address of the previous school must be included in order for us to requests records from that school.
    • A signed certificate of residency
