Small Business Saturday - November 24, 2012

It's November and another Small Business Saturday will be here shortly!  What is Small Business Saturday?  It is a day between Black Friday and Cyber Monday specifically for small business shopping!

We are going to add "LOCAL" to the description - Saturday Nov 24th is for Local, Small business shopping.  So mark your calendars to shop "SMALL LOCALLY" on Saturday, November 24th.

Why Shop Locally?   Shopping local gives you a great variety of items compared to the mall and internet.  It gives you easy access to the store, you know what you bought, you do not have to wait for deliveries and you don't have to contact a shipper to return an item and wait for a credit!

Also there is a direct community link and benefit.  For our sports teams and community efforts, large non-local corporations do not support an area.  Their contributions are provided at a 'national' level.  When we need to rebuild fields or obtain new equipment, our local businesses provide the assistance.

Keep in mind, when you shop locally, you are helping your neighbor work, employ others and contribute to the support of your city and schools!  Did you know that for every $100 spent in locally owned independent stores, approximately $68 returns to the community through taxes, payroll and other expenditures?   When that same $100 is spent in a national chain, approx $43 stays here, and if you spend it in another city or online at a non-local website - none of your money stays home.

SO - shop small and local on Saturday, November 24th (and ALL year long)!
