Achiever's League

If you would like to watch baseball when it is played for total fun, come and watch the Achiever League's ball teams.  This is a special league designed so all kids can play ball and be part of a  team. The Achiever's League is supported by the Bessemer Elks Lodge 0721.  In addition to supporting the Achiever's, the Bessemer Elks hold events through the year for all children.  

The Achiever League's games are held on Saturdays through mid-May at Pleasant Grove's city softball fields.  If you have some extra time and want some exercise, the teams can always use your help as a buddy or an assistant coach.   Click here for their facebook link:  Achiever's League Facebook  and Photos.   Click HERE for information on the Bessemer Elks.

Hueytown Quarterback Club meeting: Tuesday, 4/23/13 @ 6 30 pm, HHS Lecture Room

You are invited to the Hueytown High School Quarterback Club meeting to be held Tuesday evening, April 23rd.  It will be held in the High School's Lecture Room at 6:30 pm. 

Participation with the Quarterback Club only requires your interest in the betterment of the Hueytown High School football program.  You do not need to have a child in Hueytown. 

Also, be sure to obtain the HHS Gold Card.  This card provides discounted services and free items throughout the Western Jefferson County/Hueytown area.

Scott Cochran, Strength and Conditioning Coach to speak at the Hueytown Chamber Banquet: May 9, 2013

The Hueytown Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual banquet on Thursday, May 9th.  In true Hueytown fashion we obtained another great speaker:   Scott Cochran, the Strength and Conditioning Coach from the University of Alabama.

You do not need to be a Chamber member or live in the Hueytown area to attend the banquet and hear Coach Cochran.  Tickets are available to all on a 'first come, first served' basis.

Ticket price:  $   30 per ticket
                         $  220 per table

Hueytown's Relay for Life & Survivor Dinner: April 19th - 6 pm to 6 am

Please join Hueytown's fight against cancer on April 19th!   The Relay for Life will be held at the new Hueytown High School.  Plenty of concessions will be available for purchase and  games will be held throughout the night. 

The Survivor dinner is scheduled to begin at 4:30 pm and the overnight relay begins at 6 pm.  The dinner is  sponsored by FITNESS 1440 and is free for all cancer survivors along with their caregiver. 

There is no admission and all are asked to participate.  We would like you to share your time and walk in honor or memory of someone.  If you haven't been touched by cancer, please walk for those who have.
