Congratulations to Scott's Flooring for work with Bryant's Seafood and Restaurant Impossible

Did you see the fantastic flooring installed in Bryant's Seafood for Restaurant Impossible episode 'Treading Water'?   The great job was performed by one of our own Hueytown Area Chamber members:  Scott's Floor Covering!  Click the link for Facebook photos of the work. 

If you remember we experienced the coldest weather in 10-15 years for the area during filming in February this year.  In some of the Restaurant Impossible shots you can see snow flakes.   So not only did Scott's Floor Covering work with the Robert Irvine team to provide the installation of the flooring, due to the weather many of the interviews and activities were conducted in the Scott's Flooring showroom.

Time to run or walk your treats off! Hueytown's 10K, 5K Race/Walk and Kid's Fun Run will be Saturday, May 10, 2014.

Hueytown's 10K, 5K Race/Walk and Kid's Fun Run will be Saturday, May 10, 2014.  Start time:  8 am sharp.   Our race is one of the few area certified 10K races.  Remember - you don't have to run or race  - we always have a great group of walkers that enjoy the morning!

Every 10K and 5K participant will receive a technical dry-fit shirt and goodie bag with paid registration!  This includes walkers along with runners.    Prizes will be provided to each race category winner.  We will again have door prizes and give aways at the end of the race. 

Early Race Registration is $ 20. You can register in advance through ACTIVE.COM  or by contacting Rebecca at the Chamber for an application.  You can also register the morning of the race starting at 7 am. Day of race registration is $ 25.  You have plenty of time to get ready for the race/walk - 'ain't nothing to it but to do it!'

3rd Annual Tannehill Rodeo Presented by City Auto Sales of Hueytown: April 25-26, 2014

Ready for a rodeo? The Trails at Tannehill will host the 3rd Annual Tannehill Rodeo presented by The Professional Cowboy Association and City Auto Sales in Hueytown on April 25 and 26.  Bob Sykes Bar B Q will sell their famous BBQ through the event.  Bob Sykes BBQ and City Auto Sales are two of our Hueytown Area Chamber members.

During the rodeo cowboys and cowgirls will perform eight events that include saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, barrel racing, calf roping, steer wrestling, team roping, breakaway roping and bull riding. Be sure to get there early for the kids corner with free inflatables and pony rides!

Clean up with the HHS Football team - Saturday, April 5th, 2014 - McDonald's in Hueytown

Support Hueytown High School football and get a clean car!  The Hueytown High School football team is working to raise money for their football program.  Bring your car or truck to McDonald's in Hueytown on Saturday, April 5th from 7 am - 12 noon and they will wash it for a donation.  There will be four shifts available - one for each lucky class! 

Seniors:            7:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.

Juniors:            8:15  a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Sophomores:   9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

Freshman:     10:45 a.m. to 12 noon

Hueytown's Cancer Relay For Life Fundraiser - May 2nd to 3rd - Gilmore Vines Stadium Park

Join friends and family in Hueytown fight cancer on May 2, 2014 by participating in Hueytown's Relay for Life fundraiser. This year's theme is Luau for Life. Click here for the article on AL.com   There is still plenty of time to sign up yourself or a team!

We will have a fun night to honor and remember everyone impacted by the disease.  The night's events will consist of activities involving food, entertainment, games and speakers - all for funding the fight against cancer.

There will be a Survivors Dinner starting at 4:30 pm on May 2nd.  Location:  First United Methodist Church in Hueytown (FUMC).  

Opening Ceremonies will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 2nd at Gilmore Vines Stadium Park.  Don't forget the Lumanaria Ceremony at 9 pm
