Miss Hueytown Pageant Update: After Hours Registration - Jan 29

The Miss Hueytown Pageant will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011.  Registration is open. In order to accommodate those unable to register during regular office hours, the Chamber office will be open to accept registrations this Saturday, January 29 from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon.  Please phone the Chamber office with questions:   205-491-8039

New Business Workshops - Scheduled through 2011

Several times throughout the year the Alabama Department of Revenue hosts new business workshops.   Participants will receive a brief, but comprehensive overview of Alabama taxes that will enable a business to begin operating with a clearer understanding of its tax obligations.

For the Birmingham area, two classes per workshop day are scheduled for your convenience.  The duration of each workshop is approximately one hour.  Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled workshops.  Questions?  Click HERE to email or call (205) 733-2740.

Make up for Snow Days experienced in January, 2011

As of 1/21/11, the Jefferson County Board of Education revised the 2011 school calendar and added four  (4) makeup days to cover those lost last week because of snow and ice. Miss Hueytown Pagent - February 12, 2011

Beauty is not only in the eye of the beholder - it will be in Hueytown on February 12th!  Join us for the Miss Hueytown Pageant. If you would like to participate, please register as soon as possible.  This is an Open pageant. 

The registration deadline for the pageant is Friday, February 4, 2011.   Applications are available by e-mail via hueyoed@bellsouth.net , at the Chamber office mailbox after hours, and also by calling Rebecca at the Chamber at 205 491 8039.

Support our Schools! Hueytown Elementary's Boosterthon 2011 - Jan 28!

Come one, come all and support them all!  Hueytown Elementary School's main fund raiser will be held on January 28th at the school. "What is a Boosterthon" you ask?   In addition to being a great way to help support Hueytown Elementary, Boosterthon 2011 is a fitness event hosted by the Hueytown Elementary students. Each participating student will gather pledges from family, friends or businesses for laps completed during the Boosterthon.  In addition to pledges per lap, a one time flat donation is also welcomed.  All donations are tax deductible.

The donations will be used to encourage academic excellence through their work at Hueytown Elementary. So if you believe in excellence through education, help the students and parents.
