State Filing Extensions Granted to Alabama Storm Victims

Montgomery, May 4, 2011—Alabama Commissioner of Revenue Julie Magee issued an order today granting automatic Alabama filing extensions to storm victims located in 38 Alabama counties.  Individuals who reside or have a business in these counties may qualify for the Alabama tax relief.

Alabama ’s tax laws have no provision for the waiver of interest; however, late payment penalties will be waived for the affected taxpayers.

Need Manual Labor? Work crews arriving over the next several weekends

Over the next several weekends The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is bringing in work crews of 1000+ men to provide free labor in Alabama. If you need labor assistance a Work Order must be completed by each person who wants workers to come and help them.  The work order is contained below this message and as an attachment.

The work orders can be emailed to: Traci Ware,  Steve Ware, or Betsy Green  . If you are unable to email they can be dropped off at the Hueytown Area Chamber of Commerce Office, Hueytown Elementary School or People's Chapel Funeral Home.  Please place in a sealed envelope addressed to Betsy Green (Hueytown Elementary) or Steve Ware (People's Chapel Funeral Home).

The first wave of helpers will initially perform clean up (trees, debris, etc.) and cover roofs along with windows to prevent more damage while waiting on insurance adjusters and contractors. Later more skilled people will arrive to help rebuild for people with limited or no insurance.

If there any Hispanic individuals with damage, please relay that information and a translator will be provided to help with damage assessment.
