Save gas and your cash by purchasing your supplies at your Hueytown Chamber of Commerce member businesses. The 2nd annual state and city tax free weekend begins Friday, Feb 22 at 12:01 am and ends Sunday, Feb 24th at 12 pm midnight. Click link to the State of Alabama website for more information.
Items covered under the tax free weekend ($60 or less PER ITEM):
- Batteries: AAA, AA, C, D, 6 and 9 volt along with Cell phone batteries
- Cell phone charger
- Radios: Portable, self-powered or battery powered, two way, weather band, or NOAA weather radios
- Lighting: Flashlights, lanterns, emergency glow sticks, self-powered
- Coverings: Tarpaulins, plastic sheeting, plastic drop cloths
- Ground anchor for coverings: bungee cords, rope, tie-down kits
- Duct Tape
- Window protection: plywood, window film or other window protection covering
- Food Storage: non-electric food storage coolers and water storage containers
- Home Items: smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, fire extinguisher, non-electric can opener, artificial ice pack, blue ice, reusable ice, self contained First Aid kits
- Gas or diesel fuel container
- Power cords
- Portable Generator ($ 1,000 or less) and power cords
