RBC Bank's 'Tribute to Teachers'

RBC Bank® is a fantastic example of the quality of the members in the Hueytown Area Chamber of Commerce and our community.  RBC Bank®  has a long history of investing in excellence in education through corporate giving, in-kind donations and individual volunteerism. It’s because of this history – along with a core belief that excellence in education can’t really exist without the priceless contribution of our most dedicated teachers – that they’ve created an investment of their own. It’s called Tribute to Teachers - a regional awards program that recognizes the work and ‘never quit’ attitude of our communities’ best educators.

Since the program’s inception in 2004, Tribute to Teachers has awarded more than $160,000 in cash and prizes to hundreds of educators across the Southeast, allowing them to add invaluable learning tools and resources to their classrooms.

How Tribute To Teachers Works

At the beginning of each calendar year, RBC Bank® invites communities to nominate an elementary, middle school or high school teacher that best demonstrates a commitment to educational excellence.

The RBC Bank® selection committee carefully reviews each nomination and chooses 100 teachers —50 in May and 50 in December — to receive $500 in classroom cash. From there, one teacher from each group of 50 will be randomly selected to receive a $2,000 school shopping spree.

To qualify for the Tribute awards, you must complete a nomination form telling RBC  Bank® why your favorite teacher should be recognized.  Nominations submitted between January 1 and March 13, 2011 will be considered for the May tribute awards. Nominations submitted after March 13 will be considered for the December tribute awards.
